It is believed that some guesthouses and hotels have special guests who refused to leave, even after death. So here is a short story of each of those places.
The Artist House is the house where Robert the Doll used to live and the place from where he started scaring the locals. Today, Robert the Doll resides in Key West's East Martello Museum. However, a lot of people still believe that the ghost of the former resident - Anne Otto is trapped in the mentioned house.
However, this is not the only house where it is said to be seen a ghost of a woman. At Marrero's Guest Mansion, you will have the opportunity to meet, how the locals like to refer to her – "the original spirit of Key West". Enriquetta Marrero, who was the wife of Francisco Marrero, a prominent cigar maker, even after being thrown from the house by her husband, told that her spirit will never leave the house, as the house was rightfully hers, and ever since then locals believe to see her ghost wondering around the house.
Another in the row of Key West ghost tours is the Old Town Manor that was once home to surgeon Dr Warren. The Old Town manor is today known as well as the Eaton lodge and is transformed into a nice bed&breakfast. Many guests reported strange experiences during the night – thrown sheets from the bed mysteriously appear again on the bed, some guests reported to see a ghost of a woman seated over the bed, etc.
The next Key West ghost tours includes The Banyan Resort. This place looks spooky just by itself. However, the spookiest thing is that it is believed that one of the previous owners of the resort haunts the place.
The Crown Plaza is the home to the haunted gift shop. It is also said to be a hotspot for paranormal activity in its own right. This is the hotel where Ernest Hemingway used to stay as well as Tennessee Williams. Locals and many guests that were there still believe that their ghosts remained in the rooms even after their check out dates.
Key West ghost tours can add extra layer to the overall Key West experience and are especially interesting o people that believe in the paranormal.
